Uncle Gregory with Shawn & Ethan

Greg Visits the East Coast

We were so happy to spend a few hours with my brother, a.k.a. Uncle Gregory this past Saturday. He flew in to spend a few days with a friend and we were able to catch up with him at the Ballston Mall in Arlington. We had lunch at Chevy's, were it was difficult to keep Shawn off his Uncle...all he wanted to do was tackle Uncle Greg!I had to give Greg a hard time because he thought this was his first time seeing his new nephew Ethan. Not so. He was out this way in May to see him...but I guess Ethan did not make that much of an impression! :-) I had to include a photo to prove that he has seen Ethan before! I can't wait for Ethan to get a little older to really know his Uncle and remember these types of visits. Shawn thinks Greg is pretty awesome and it's wonderful to see my brother being such a great Uncle to our boys! Shawn really looks up to him. It wasn't too sad saying goodbye, knowing we will see Greg at Christmas in San Diego. I'm sure Greg had enough beating for one day! We love you (Unlce) Greg!

Our First Blog

Welcome to the Naylor Newsline! I finally decided it was time to create a place where friends and loved ones could go and read up on what's new in the Naylor household. I love the idea of being able to post new updates and pictures for all to see!

I was sparked with the desire to do this as I witnessed our family going through many changes. This October marked Shawn's fifth birthday and Ethan's six-month mark. I am amazed everyday how fast our two boys are growing. Shawn is such a little man! He is capabl;e of so much understanding and I realize, despite his age, he has opinions and thoughts that are truly beyond what I thought a five-year old was capable of. Just the other day Matt was having a discussion with him about the state of our economy and why Mommy and Daddy work. At the same time, the older he gets the more he is able to manipulate, or try rather, us on getting his way. Five year olds are finely-tuned bargainers! He is always trying to bargain with us to get more time berfore bed, or the treat he would like after a meal! He enjoys fast cars, NASCAR, and jets! He is beginning to get in to LEGOS and is having a grand time building things and exploring his more creative side. Overall, he is turning out to be such a smart, affectionate little boy!

Then there is our Big-E! What a blessing he has been to our family. He is completely enthralled with Shawn, and vice-versa. Ethan is a very happy little boy. he has this hair that has a mind of it's own! He giggles quite frequently and he would rather stand on your lap with support than lay down. Matt and I are taking time to enjoy all the small wonders as we did with Shawn. We love it in the early morning hours as Ethan is waking up, we listen as he is now old enough to push the buttons on his crib mobile and makes cooing sounds. He loves to do raspberries as I try to feed him food and it never fails that I always manage to have peas and sweet potatoes splattered all over me! He loves to play in the tub with Shawn, and he is such a good brother to put up with Shawn trying to squirt him on the head with his toys!

I am filled with love in my heart as I have seen our family grow. Our boys are everything to us. We have been truly blessed and I am overcome with gratitude to my Heavenly Father for all the blessings he has brought to us. We want to bring you in to our world and share with you all the wonderful joys we find ourselves being surrounded with everyday! I have enjoyed writing this first blog and can't wait to share the next one with you! Until the next time, happy blogging! :-)
