Blizzard of 2009

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW!!!

WOW!!! After years of wishing for a GOOD snow storm - we FINALLY got our wish - AND THEN SOME! We had about 25 inches of snow fall in about 24 hours time! It was a sight to behold! Ethan was not even able to stand in the snow on his own - the snow came over his head! It was near impossible to walk in it! Luckily Shawn had his Daddy that gave him a ride on the sled, Daddy just had to do all the work!  Matt carried Ethan and pulled Shawn on the sled while I cracked the whip - and told Matt to make his tracks closer together so I didn't have to work as hard and make MY job easier - just to walk myself in the snow!

We were so grateful to our neighbor who came over and used his snowblower to do our driveway! THANK YOU!! It saved us a few hours of shoveling to say the least!

It may be a few more years before we see that kind of snow again...but I have to say, from a Physical Therapists perspective - It is VERY good for business. It never fails that we will have a flood of new patients suffering from sprained backs, knee and shoulder injuries due to the ice and snow. So, if you are one of those unfortuanate souls to hurt themselves in the wintery weather - dont fret - just some and see your FAVORITE PT! LOL.

All this snow makes me wish I was in the Carribean!

Lazy Dayz of Summer 09

I can't believe it has been over 4 months since my last blog! I have been meaning to update for several weeks now and I was actually pondering why I have not been more diligent with the blogs in the past several months. To put it bluntly, I blame Twilight. Yes, I know, it is my newest obsession! I have managed to read the books twice through and it has nealry consumed all of my free time for most of the summer.

However, nothing is more important than my family. The boys are growing up so fast! Shawn starts Kindergarten this coming week and Ethan is nearly 17 months old! WOW!I am trying deperately to enjoy each day with them as they will continue to grow each day.

We have had a wonderful summer. We have managed to find time in our busy schedules to flourish our friendships with friends and family that are near and dear to us. My parents came out in early July and it was such a wonderful relaxing visit. We miss having them here when they leave. Matt's parents have remained close by and have enjoyed some relaxing days on the boat and loving their grandboys! We have enjoyed the first summer with our new boat - and at times it can be challenging with Ethan! Matt and Shawn have even slept overnight on it and I am looking forward to next summer even more as Ethan will be older and more accomidating to a flexible schedule and hopefully up to some overnight trips as a family on the boat!

I have so much catching up to do that I thougth it might be easier to put most of the pictures in a slide show to consolidate space! Even though I am over 5 months behind, here are pictures from Ethan's first birthday this past April 1st.

We had a baby Einstein theme party and it was small with close friends and family.

WITH ALL THE SLIDE SHOWS: IF YOU DRAG YOUR CURSOR OVER THE PICTURE, YOU CAN READ THE CAPTION AND THE PICTURE WILL STOP SLIDING.

Because I have been so bad at updateing our blog - here are several pictures from April of this year through July. You will see that Shawn has graduated from preschool in May and there are several pictures of the boys doing what they do best -being cute!

Finally, here are some pictures of us enjoying our new boat this summer! We will be able to enojoy it a little more as Ethan gets bigger. Overall, not a bad way to spend some hot, humid Maryland summer days!

Our Boys Are Growing up too Fast!

It has been a couple months since my last blog...and BOY! - a lot has been going on! You will see in the pictures and video - we have a 5-year old going on 15 and a little baby becoming a toddler! It is amazing to see these two beautiful boys growing up so fast...it makes you appreciate everyday with them! Shawn received this shaving kit from Ben Taylor for Christmas and I had to take pictures of his "first" time shaving in early January. He was so proud of himself and said afterwards that he had "no more wiskers!"

Ethan sat watching with amusement...still with no teeth.

They love "tubbytime"...hey, are they hugging or wrestling? :-)

Well, at least they have fun and as they say: "BOTTOM'S UP!"

Matt and I were very strtict about NO HAIRCUTS with Shawn before his first birthday -well, he ended up having a "tail" that was 4 inches down his back when his hair was wet by the time he had his first haircut! I guess you loosen up a bit with the second. This was Ethan the day before Valentines Day.

And this was after his FIRST haircut that he recieved before our trip out to San Diego in December 2008! So, it was time for another haircut. Here he is on February 27th eating finger foods with his little buy haircut. I kind of miss the long hair - it is so babyish...I wish I could keep him like that forever.

Here is Ethan - FINALLY - getting his first tooth!! Yeah! I thought he would never get them in! This was taken February 28th. He's such a ham for the camera!

I took these next pictures just a few nights ago. The boys were having such a great time in Mommy and Daddy's tub. Shawn likes it becasue he has more room to play!

Christmas Continues in Maryland

When we returned to Maryland, it was a hard adjustment to the cold temps! YIKES! We still had some surprises awaiting us. Matt's parents gave us the WII for Christmas...they were pretty nervous giving it to us not knowing how we would react. Shawn loved it! Matt and I are warming up to it...there are going to be definite rules when it comes to the time we spend on this...I can see the laundry and dishes easily going by the wayside! Shaawn is a lucky boy, if it were not for them, we would have not gotten it probably.

Ethan was too little - sorry little one - to be included in the "family" gift of the WII, so he had his own presents.

But, all he wanted to do was eat the wrapping paper. That's nine months for you.

We enjoyed a great evening at the Taylors. As Charlene put it, We'll enjoy copious amounts of food for us and wine for her! They have such a special place for Shawn and Ethan. Again, the gifts kept coming!

The big gift of the evening was.....

a new Razor for Shawn. Luckily, Aunt Charlene and Mr. Keith have not done wood floors yet and allowed Shawn to race around the house with his new scooter! He loved it!

Good times were had by all!

The boys even had to wrestle a little! I'm sure that was instigated by Shawn!
